I slow cooked a goat loin and a couple legs for tacos this weekend to ring in my 30th, which turned out great. Cracked open one of the elderberry prickly pear blends for the party too, which turned out to be pretty solid. The overly tannic elderberry balanced with the overly acidic prickly pear really well.
On Friday I took the morning and went for a hike at Volcan Mountain, and started a mead with everything I gathered -- apple blossoms, green manzanita berries, a single white sage leaf, and a couple cedar sprigs.
Gathered some of the lilac flowers that are out in full force to make another mead as well as some infused honey. The window on these is very short, so trying to make the most of them.
Continued working on the garden over the weekend as well, finishing digging with a bit of help from Jim Robison, adding more manzanita to the fence, building another gate, spreading mulch, and planting pomegranates and a couple European elderberries we got from Paul.
