Monday it drizzled all day, but again significantly less than I was hoping for, about a quarter inch total. Doesn’t look like we’ll get any more good rain for the year. With the dismal weather I took the opportunity to bottle the wines I started back in September, ending up with around 17 bottles of blackberry, elderberry, prickly pear, and some blends of the three. The elderberry turned out quite bitter, while the prickly pear was overly acidic, so I’m hoping a combination of the two works out.
We’ve continued work on the garden -- about halfway through digging the whole thing a foot deep and uprooting the remains of the sod. I also made a latch for the front gate, and I’m slowly adding more manzanita between the cross beams.
