Work on the meadow garden has commenced. I cut 23 black locust fence posts around 10 feet long and started prepping the area yesterday. It felt good to practice my felling technique on straight trees of manageable diameter, though it’s still a bit nerve wracking understanding the potential for kickback.
We’re nearing the end of the grafting marathon, as we finished the last 15 apples yesterday. Thought I was going to escape with no injuries until I sliced the meat of my left hand pretty good on the absolute last cut. There are now 50+ potential new fruit trees sitting in our little nursery area -- last thing to do is graft the cherries we planted the other day, and we’ll be onto the next thing.
