Finished pruning the last tree yesterday -- the big gnarly pear. I know you typically are not supposed to top trees, but much of the growth above where I cut the leader looked diseased -- someone suggested fire blight as the diagnosis. It’s a gamble, and I’m not confident about anything I’ve done pruning wise at this point, so I’m hoping for the best and will adjust based on how the trees respond.

We started grafting all the apple rootstock. It’s tedious when you’re doing a bunch of these. Still not even halfway through.

Thimbleberry shoots are starting to form.
