Yesterday was Bernie’s birthday, so we went for a hike with dogs at William Heise.

Not sure on ID, but this was all over. Looks kind of sagey but not that aromatic.

These manzanitas grew close to the ground and have lighter leaves than the normal species around here.

Finished a manzanita spatula. This one nicely illustrates one of my frustrations with manzanita -- if the wood is curved to start with, it’s really difficult to end up with a non-curved spoon.
