This weekend we finished the two week effort to clear dead manzanita brush and get it ready for chipping. It’s amazing how different the manzanita groves look now. I’m really happy with how it went — hopefully they get through most of the brush in the two days of chipping we get.
Sunday I finished putting together our seed starting station in the laundry room closet. Excited to get some seeds going in there.
Also buried the first batch of Bokashi in one of the empty garden beds. After two weeks of sitting it had a nice bluish white layer of fuzz on top, and didn’t smell bad at all. Slightly fermenty. We’ll see how long it takes to break down in the soil.
Found this guy growing out of the humanure compost pile — not sure on ID yet, but I noticed it growing in one other place as well.
One of the raspberries is starting to leaf out already too!
